Waste Land :

   Inspired by T.S Elliot's poem written in 1922. The spectacle is a collection of images reflecting the spirit of Elliot's poetry: feeling of emptiness, uncertainty, futile efforts and longing for "life-giving water" of which we have run out. This waste land is a contaminated land which smells of "synthetic perfumes, ointments and powders". And where all feelings have died. The poem has been broadened by modern forms of sterility which prove the downfall of mankind. The message is conveyed through theatre of movement, mime show, butoh dance and videoart.
“We are the hollow men
We are the stuffed men
Leaning together
Headpiece filled with straw. Alas ! (…)

Sharpe without form, shade without colour,
Paralysed force, gesture without motion;

Those who have crossed
With direct eyes, to death’s other Kingdom
Remember us – if at all – not as lost
Violent souls, but only
As the hollow men
The stuffed men”
